LET'S KEEP THE SPARK IN US!
»Let's keep the spark in us!« is a project which is aimed at youth workers from non-formal youth work field who confront with overloading from time to time and lack of motivation for further work.
The aim of the 7-day international training is to learn how to cope with everyday stress successfully and how to have and how to provide fun at work. The project addresses also the need for relaxation and for revision about person’s satisfaction at work. Within the Training we are looking for offers and tips which will help participants relieve pressure from everyday’s work, satisfy personal needs and gain their self confidence (back). Participants will receive theoretical inspiration and practical methods, which they can take with them and use easily both at their work and in personal life.
The project is oriented at holistic approach where mind, body and soul are included. We would like to stimulate participants to get in contact with themselves, to get in contact with others and to get in contact with nature around them. The project includes various outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, swimming etc. which led the participants to make their body tired and rest their mind thus.
Participants' profile:
* people who need to reconnect with their joy at work
* people who need some time off to top up their batteries
* people who want to step back for a while
* participants need to be involved in youth work field (youth workers are main target),
* please take into consideration that there will be sport activities included in the programme (like hiking, climbing and others), which makes the Training not suitable for persons with certain health problems
Please note: this is not a project for people suffering from burnout. We are no professionals treating burnout. We ask you as our partner to support us in creating a programme we are able to offer, by sending suitable participants. By this we mean people at risk of burnout, so still a couple of steps away from it. Such a group we can successfully work with and provide support and relief.
The venue and what to bring
The venue is a grass-field with tents. There are no showers, electricity or internet. Toilets are chemical. Shower / internet / electricity can be reached within a 20 minutes walk. There is a river and a forrest though. There is a lake in 10 minutes walking distance. There are mountains and climbing routes. Food will be cooked on spot and - if we want it - parts of it can be prepared by the group.
Participants should bring sleeping-bags and isomates with them. They will also need warm cloths and walking/hiking shoes.
Technical team will have car available on the spot for supply and emergency's.
There are three main parts included into the project:
• Sports and relaxation
The aim is to make our bodies tired which helps to enlarge personal perseverance and inner motivation. This also enable that participants get in contact with yourself, others and nature.
Each day one outdoor activity will be carried out: walking on hiking in mountains, canoeing, climbing or other activities using rope, bikes and water.
Everyday the participant will try out different relaxation technique, during morning and evening (guided) relaxation.
• Workshops
The aim is to become aware about themes which are connected with burnout at work.
Each day one workshop, providing theoretical input and practical exercises will be carried out. You can expect topics like: burnout, time management, personal and internal motivation, learning and the transfer of learning results, as well as the question “what next?”.
• Methods
Various methods will be used and practiced: FISH method, scout reflection method, future research, affinity diagram, relaxation methods, lego serious play and others.
