European Solidarity Corps Programme

The European Solidarity Corps brings together young people in order to build a more inclusive society, and responding to societal challenges.

Beeing part of the European Solidarity Corps programm offers an inspiring and empowering experience for volunteers aged 18-30 (35) and organisations who want to contribute to a justice society, learn and develop.

The first pilot period of the European Solidarity Corps started as stand - alone EU programme in October 2018 till end 2020. The programme integrated the volunteering activities formerly funded under Erasmus+  known for many years as European voluntary service (EVS) and added up the programme with local volunteering initiatiatives (Solidarity projects) as well as job opportunities and traineeships (not continued in 2021).

With a dedicated budget of €1.009 billion for 2021-2027, the second generation of the European Solidarity Corps programme will offer opportunities to at least 270,000 young people to help address societal and humanitarian challenges through volunteering or by setting up their own solidarity projects

The  European Solidarity Corps supports the political priorities of the European Union and engages organisations and young people in projects to address them. The programme promotes inclusion and diversity, aims to incorporate green practices in projects and encourages environmentally sustainable and responsible behaviour among participants and participating organisations. It supports the digital transition through projects and activities that boost digital skills and fosters digital literacy. The programme also promotes participation of young people in democratic processes and civic engagement.

The supported programme actions are:

  • Volunteering projects (individual or in teams of 10-40 volunteers)
  • Solidarity projects (youth-led national innitatives)
  • Humanitarian Aid volunteering
