OUT OF THE BOX - ST EVS Project Building Training Course
The training course aims for building new short-term European Voluntary Service hosting projects for young people with social exclusion backgrounds. It targets youth workers who work in inclusion.
Please read the more detailed information in the attachment.
The European Voluntary Service (EVS) has proven to be a good tool of empowerment for young people with social problems. The periods abroad have become a popular way to learn new cultures, to get a break from young people's own daily realities, and to build a new identity.
There are a lot of long-term projects in EVS, but less projects that could host short-term volunteers with more challenging backgrounds.
The training course aims to create more short-term EVS hosting projects that are able to host young people with different social problems.
We are looking for participants who work directly with young people with social problems, but have not started hosting ST EVS volunteers yet. However, they are interested in starting EVS activities and want to do international youth work.
The participants should be interested in international co-operation and having an opportunity to start hosting ST EVS volunteers.
Their target group should be young people with different social backgrounds (especially alcohol/drug use, juvenile delinquency/former prisoners, gangs, cultural clashes, ethnic minorities, school drop-outs, young people hanging on the streets, etc.). Also people working with other groups may apply.
Persons working in immigrant organisations or with national minorities (e.g. Roma people) are considered positively.
