Virtual Inclusion Forum Results

You'll find the results of our Virtual Inclusion forum here, with chat examples and statistics on how many of you were behind their screens, and whether this will become a standard feature of future conferences...

Some Virtual Participation Results

The idea of the Virtual Inclusion Forum was to create an opportunity to more people to participate, than there were places at the Inclusion Forum in Antwerp, with a relatively low additional investment.

  • On Friday 13 October 115 visitors logged on and
  • on Saturday 14 October 88 visitors took advantage of the online possibility to participate
  • During the Inclusion Forum (12-15 Oct 06) 1900 Inclusion Forum pages were viewed in only 3 days

We did a prize draw amongst the participants online and the winners are: Musa Tokmak (tr), Rosemin Najmudin (uk), Corinne Grassi (fr), Adriana Iacob (ro), Pablo Castineiras (es), Grosu Brindusa Luciana (ro), Siranush Vardanyan (ar) and Mustafa Uluk (tr). Thanx for participating!

Part of the Virtual Inclusion Forum was also the extensive and 'on the spot' documentation, making both reports, handouts and videoclips available as soon as possible after the sessions. In the 4 weeks after the conference, we had the following visits (by 7 Nov 06):

We asked the participants what they thought of the possibility to participate online in the Inclusion Forum: 70% of participants were positive about this Virtual Inclusion Forum; 30% were more doubtfull, partly because the videos & microphones (need to broadcast the sessions) hindered the discussions, partly because often the discussions in the chat and in the working group were on different tracks, and little interaction was possible because of that. When asked if this possible Online Participation should be expanded to other conferences, only 49% answered a clear YES.

Evaluation of the Virtual Inclusion Forum

What happened during the Virtual Inclusion Forum?

The Forum was broadcasted live for most of the sessions (see programme) so that it was possible to follow discussions, presentations as if you were there. The chat sessions were lively and interesting and chat moderators were making the link between the workshops' participants and the virtual ones; we have saved you some pieces of our dicsussions here below.

This fantastic virtual adventure would not have been possible without two organisations that we highly recommend if you want to use multimedia tools in your activities: here are their contacts for you:
