TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Alicia Carpio Obré
The aim of this training course was to develop a supportive ecosystem for women’s economic participation by overcoming social obstacles through youth work.
The main objectives were:
- Raise awareness about the reality of women entrepreneurs and explore best practices and lessons learned (good examples of practice) in supporting women’s economic participation.
- Showcase examples of socially responsible private sector organisations supporting women’s empowerment.
- Develop competences and provide practical tools to increase effectiveness in women’s entrepreneurship programmes.
- Inspire participants for a continuous professional and personal growth.
They were 24 participants (2 male and the rest female) representing diverse profile of participants: youth workers, managers of youth programmes, leaders of youth organisations, other professionals working with girls and young women and with experience or with an interest in entrepreneurship support.
There was representation of about 15 nationalities both for Europe and neighbouring countries.
The activity was designed to explore challenges that women face in entrepreneurship, build capacity of participants to provide entrepreneurial competence development trainings and innovative methods, and inspire participants with inputs from by motivational speakers and visits to successful businesses and social entrepreneurships that are led/owned or supporting women leadership.
All the methodology was focused in providing opportunities to share, construct and reflect collectivelly.
Participants were invited to play, discuss, to co-create and share ideas and ways how to overcome the challenges related to the training program.
A big part of the training course was invested in the development of specific skills and competences of participants. Most of them were inspired by the EntreComp framework, that was a great support in order to make an understandable itinerary of competences that should be acquired for entrepreneurship.
Diverse tools, dynamics but also team work was developed to assure the understanding of skills and competences, and also the complexity of defining a complete project or business.
All the training process was bringing ideas, proposals and methods in order to increase participants' capacities both to promote women entrepreneurship among their potential beneficiaries, but also to increase their own role as social workers, youth workers interested or even as entrepreneurs themselves.
I was one of the two trainers of this training course.
My responsibilities came from the design of the training program, content and methodology. We also participated in the review and selection of participants.
I also participated in the development of materials, and content for the daily work, and the development the training within the participants.
After the training program finished, I elaborated, within my partner, the final report of the activity.
