Youth work introductory course for young people working in churches, religious NGOs and in service

Aims & objectives

General aim:
Strengthening young people who are directly working in religious settings using youth work and NFE methods.

Specific aims:
1) learning about types of education: FE, NFE.
2) exploring values and personal prejudices and stereotypes about young people.
3) researching about differences in religious and state youth work in different countries.
4) delievering workshops for students from different background.
5) informing about intercultural learning and NFE methods in workshop and facilitation.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Group was consisted:

14 young people from different minority groups and countries: Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, North Macedonia and Hungary. Also they were also from different Protestant groups and churches.


Training methods used & main activities

Team building exercises, case studies analysis, presentations, working in groups, energizers, reflection groups and evaluation.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants delievered in pairs 7 workshops (under supervision and support) for other young people. Topics on workshops were:

1) Games for young people
2) Learning styles
3) Social skills
4) Presentation skills (Tips and Tricks)
5) Music and me
6) Learning languages- with fun
7) What is team?

Feedback follow up sessions (7 of them) and closure meeting.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Preparation of the training programme, with co-trainer, realization of reflection groups, evaluation data gathering, follow up reporting and supervision of the workshops.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
