yIGF Training - Empowerment

Aims & objectives

The European youth IGF Project seeks to bring young people into the Internet Governance debates. It facilitates a youth delegate programme, will produce a booklet and in four training supports the youth delegates to take action in the Internet Governance Forums. This is the first training on Empowerment, to kick off our cooperation and activate them for the years to come.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The training was set up for our 5 youth delegates from AT, DE, NL, TK.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was focussed on teambuilding and activism. We interchanged phases of introsepction and group work. Through life lines, team challenges and knowledge exchange the group got to know each other and learned basics about the upcoming programme.

Outcomes of the activity

The training was the starting point for our project, which is documented at: yigf.digitalyouth.at

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I am project manager of the yIGF project and was co-trainer for the meeting. I prepared the content sessions to introduce the programme and facilitate explorative sessions for the contents of internet policy.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
