TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The training course was designed to address environmental protection and sustainability issues and teach operative tools for addressing and monitoring them.
The ultimate outcome expected is the establishment of Lter-Edu monitoring network including all partners' countries, implementing methods studied during the TC. uploading data onto a web site shared by all enabling follow up, comparison of data, encouraging discussion and further exploration, ensuring the sustainability of the project.
The action was designt to promote cooperation and a sense of solidarity between youth from differnt countries on a common topic of "sustainability" and how to actively promote it as citizens influencing there home, community, school & country.
The TC included participants from 4 countries and included visits and meetings with youth leaders and youth from different communities and cultures, such as schools, kibuts, villages etc.
The team was build from 4 people - Lesley Yechezke(F), Israel, Sashka Vitanova (F), Bulgaria; Miguel Pinto (M), Portugal, Matina Theocharidou (F), Greece,
The methods used were based on learning by experience and hand on experience. Examples:
1. Presentation of NGO's - in a very creative way "Gallery of NGO's" with additional personal 5 minutes talk
2. Museum of dolls - ice-breaking game
3. Visits on the working slots in the protected area
4. Visits of several schools where the students were presenting their work on the Lter-edu monitoring establish with the help of the Ramat Hanadiv Park. In addition the group of the TC participants had to establish some trust - a ice-breaking games were proposed,
4. Reflection in socio-metric way.
Influence on local and international level.
Easy to use methods for learning and monitoring the nature were acquired.
Publication in newspapers during and after the TC, and in the Israely EMYU newspaper.
In Bulgaria a network of interested people such as teachers, scientists, NGO's is in the process of establishment regarding the use of the Lter-edu monitoring system
