Aims & objectives

Providing EVS mentors a space for reflection about their work with EVS-volunteers
Giving information about Erasmus+, Youth in Action and specifically about rules and regulations in the field of European Voluntary Service
Working on Interculturality, the youth path, communication, how to deal with conflicts and langauge barriers

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The training course was undertaken by the German National Agency in cooperation with the Austrian National Agency. As it was planned to be undertaken in German language, it was mainly Germans and Austrians taking part, but some participants also came from Switzerland and the Russian Federation.

Training methods used & main activities

Small group work, discussions and little presentations by facilitators and pax.
Intercultural Exercises (Barnga).
Creative methods (painting, writing poems/stories, working with plastillin...)
Exercise about language and power (positioning, experiencing not to understand tasks and how to react on it).

Outcomes of the activity

The representatives of the (mostly hosting) organisations learnt about structures and contents of the Youth in Action programme. They discussed experiences, fears and strategies. They used the training methods to develop their skills in terms of communcation, interculturality and conflict resolution.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was - together with my Austrian collegue Barbara Sieberth - responsible for preparation of the activity and worked there as a full-time trainer.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
