TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Virginia Hernández
The objectives of this project were:
- To promote adequate spaces for youth workers to share experiences and good practices in the field of defence and promotion of the human rights of children and adolescents.
- To generate a work and support network for entities that work in the field of the human rights of children and adolescents to favor the development of activities and projects with greater impact and results.
- Strengthen the capacities of youth entities and workers in a way that has a positive impact on their work with the children and youth beneficiaries of these entities and promotes international cooperation to expand the mobility opportunities of these organisations and their beneficiaries.
Youth workers from Spain, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and France, coming from 7 different organisations, which are working at local or national level with childhood implementing and/or defending their rights.
Group dynamics to get to know each other; team building; walk and talk; "impro" and oppressed theatre methods; simulation; open space; etc.
The participants in this activity acquired new knowledge about working on the rights of children and adolescents, new approaches and points of view when working with this group. In some cases, the participants, who are more accustomed to working with a care-based approach and formal education, were able to learn about another type of experiences and approaches in which the opinion and individual needs of the children and youth group are taken into account. To a great extent the results of this action were more intellectual than tangible.
