Aims & objectives

I am a trainer in this training course which is implemented and run by trainers colleagues (Denis Morel, Jo Claeys and myself):

- Experiencing: different educational settings, different non formal education methods
(role play, simulation game, exercises...).
-Reflecting: on the methods and its impacts, on the power and limits of NFE, on building
a pedagogical process…
-Transferring: to the own reality of participants, in order to improve ways of working with young people.
-Sharing: different perceptions, current situations and experiences.
-Developing: the building capacity of the participants, by including them in the decision
process of the project designing (participants will decide some sessions they feel they
need to have) but also in the implementation of the program (“Power to the People – the People who are you” moments).

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

30 participants coming from all over Europe from non formal environment as well as from formal one.

Team composed from Jo Claeys, Denis Morel and Simona Molari

Training methods used & main activities

Group works, simulation activities, role games. All activities followed by debriefing.

Very special logistic part: the training were host in a village and the participants were given the possibility to be one evening by a local family. A great opportunity to real get involved in the local reality.

The training course is ment not to be limited to the 5 days of residential course, but starts before with a pre-immersion phase and finish after the two months of mentorship.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants are challenged about the role of Non formal education in the society and its role in their local reality.

They leave with an action plan about developing NFE principles and methods in their daily work
