Aims & objectives

The '8KEYS' project is a training for youth workers to enable them to develop and adopt new and innovative informal education methods that they can use upon return to their local organizations and communities.
The aim of this training was to empower the participants with enough knowledge and skills needed to use these two powerful and innovative sociological pedagogical tools '8 Competences' set. and Speakers' Corner. 8 Competences set brings closer the 8 competences at very interesting and different way, while Speaker’s Corner deals with the theme of freedom of speech, culture of expression, active listening, and critical thinking
Training activities were shaped in a way that participants can very easily use them in everyday work with children and youngsters or during the Erasmus+ projects. Due to the fact that the partners were involved already in project preparation, the program and method used were communicated in accordance with their needs.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participating countries were Romania, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. Each of the partner sent four participants, making a total of 16 participants. Two out of 16 were facilitators of the overall project activity. The participants were 18 to 59 years old; youth workers, scout leaders and facilitators.

Training methods used & main activities

The methods used in this tool are a monologue, dialogue, role play, and closure of discussion in Speaker’s Corner exercise.
In 8 Keys set of tools we are using these methods: video communication, role play, debate, teamwork, and brainstorming.

Outcomes of the activity

Training was successful because all partners used acquired knowledge and skills, of these two tools, to implement them in their work by realizing the exercises in their organizations and local communities, but also in other Erasmus+ projects.
