Spanish EU Presidency Youth Conference

The training activity took place
in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain
organised by EU Commision, YFJ, Spain
12-16 April 2010

Aims & objectives

I am member of Support Structure of the European Steering Committee for the Structured Dialogue for the Trio Presidencies of Spain, Belgium and Hungary. This structure is responsible to prepare and run (content-wise) EU Presidency Youth conferences 2010-2011 (Spain, Belgium, Hungary)

About the nature of the role:

Members of the support structure of facilitators will need to plan the most suitable methods to be used in the workshop. Facilitators will lead the workshop in cooperation with another workshop leader, with whom they will have time to plan together beforehand. Facilitators are expected to play a multiplier role by sharing their experience of the whole period with their co-facilitator and to identify efficient methodology in order to establish best practices from one youth conference to the other.

In each workshop one or two experts in the field discussed will also be present. They will be able to give some background information and give answers to questions which may be raised in the group. We would like the workshops to be characterised by creativity, acceptance and equality and respect for the participant’s different experiences. Facilitators will have to strive to get everyone in the group involved in the working process of the group. The group will be composed of both representatives of youth organisations and government representatives. The diversity among participants in the group, and the aims, have to be taken into account when devising the methods used in the workshop.
