Aims & objectives

- to raise the quality of local youth work through enhanced cooperation between various national and international stakeholders such as youth centres and youth clubs, councils and municipalities and Villa as a sociocultural centre
- to bring Europe on a local level and tackle the topic of European Solidarity by establishing a strategic network among youth centres and youth organizations in Europe
- to reach youth workers and young people with fewer opportunities by involving them actively in participating in international projects
- to enhance cooperation among youth centres in Europe
- to train youth workers on possibilities of European Youth Programmes (Erasmus+ Youth, European Solidarity Corps)
- to train youth workers on successful implementation of youth exchanges

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group: Youth workers, youth leaders working in youth centres or youth organisations of all levels (local to international) and especially with young people with fewer opportunities, educators who are interested in bringing Europe on a local level, youth organisation managers, youth council members

Team composition: one trainer, two youth workers or social workers per organisation, one project manager/coordinator

Training methods used & main activities

Experiential learning methods, group works, peer-to-peer learning, simulation activities, role plays, self-directed learning, debriefing

Outcomes of the activity

Outcomes are:
- ongoing cooperation between youth workers, youth centres and youth groups in Europe
- a growing network
- implementation of learned tools and application of passed knowledge and skills
- reduction of prejudice among different countries and cultures based on follow-up surveys and evaluations

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

- development, implementation and evaluation of this long-term training course
- drafting and facilitating sessions based on non-formal education
- developing training materials and tools
- creating a network of 20+ youth centres and youth organizations Europe-wide
- participant and budget management

I worked on this training for 5 days (per training) as a full time trainer and project coordinator days as a full time trainer.
