on love and sex education, with specific reference to maladaptive behaviours and insights for addressing them properly

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

team of LoveLife APS, Crescere Insieme, Cuore21

Training methods used & main activities

non-formal education, IPEE, KOLB

Outcomes of the activity

Parents could share problems they have with their kids, and could listen to the impact of those families who tried sex and love education to their offspring with us.

Youth workers got updated on most recent studies on maladaptive behaviours and how appropriate educational responses could transforme such issues into opportunities for the personal growth of the person with disability.

Youth with intellectual disability exprienced a workshp on private and public parts of the body, another on consensus (express and ask), and a final one on hugs.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I managed the event as a whole, from dealing with partners, educational organisations that hired us for the workshops, to creating the agenda.

Then I facilitated the workshop with young people with disabilities.

I worked on this training for 1 days as a full time trainer.

Testimonial of the reference person

As President of LoveLife APS, I attest to the excellent qualities of Elena A. Russo as a trainer of psycho-sexual educational activities for people with disability. Dr. Russo has acquired these qualities not only through the rich experience gained within the LoveLife APS Association, but also through her extensive experience as a sexual educator in prestigious institutes of clinical sexology, and on a very solid theoretical basis as an anthropologist gained at the University of Perugia.
