Aims & objectives

Project is aimed at combining the existing concept of time-bank with the concept of non-formal education towards support of young people facing the high rate of unemployability through active engagement in the local community by getting experince, practice by offering services using alterntive currency.
- establish a network in local communities using the concept of Time Bank,
- develop international cooperation for ongoing support, exchange of experience and learn from each other for the future,
- create opportunitiesfor non-formal education through work in the time bank system,
- give life to intergenerational dialogue and demand inclusion - connections without financial contribution,
- learn and get experience with time bank to support youth employment,
introduce and open the bench while young people as a tool to develop their skills and exchange services for the community,
- creation of guidelines to follow in terms of creation of time bank in partners organisation in the project depending on their realities.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group: Youth workers and representatives of the time banks working in the field of youth and their daily work is to help the youth improve their skills, and motivate every day.
All participants see the need to discover the connection of the non-formal youth work methods and tools of the time bank and create results that can be useful for working with young people, especially in many directions, including support to youth employment, youth participation and intergenerational dialogue.
Countries represented: Spain, UK, Norway, Finnland, France, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria
Team: 2 facilitator/trainers (Spain, Czech Republic)

Training methods used & main activities

Methodology of the seminar was based on the non-formal education: getting to know each other, team building, presentation of the partners and their reality of time banks and youth field, exploring local reality group exercise, brainstorming, group work and discussion, intercultural activities, learning process and outcomes reflection and assessment, evaluation

Outcomes of the activity

Proposal of the "Time banks involving young people" structure, reflection of the structure based on "6 thinking hats, presentation of time banks good practice (intergenerational, inclusion, youth at risks concepts), summary of idea for promotion strategies addressed to young people, list of positives and benefits of the time banking system for young people
