The training activity took place
in Nicosia Cyprus
organised by Citizens In Power
5th to 11th of May 2014

Aims & objectives

The Training Course (3.1) "Run the world” promoted discussion among the young participants and primarily was focused on youth unemployment, employability, entrepreneurship and youth initiative, as well as sit under the guidelines of the Youth in Action program and its education component non-formal.

During this project the young participants received necessary tools in respect to entrepreneurship. The project focused on how young people can take advantage of their environment, how they should prepare themselves to enter the labor market, practice with the interview procedure, create a competitive CV, work on their self-esteem. It is generally agreed the role of entrepreneurship contribute to job creation and wealth generation in the nations. It is particularly interesting to study this phenomenon when considered from a microeconomic studies perspective that entrepreneurship contribute to the sustainability of local communities as it promote and progress competitiveness for regional development.

The venue was held in Cyprus two participants from each of the following countries Cyprus, Italy, Romania, Croatia, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, and Ukraine. The total number of participants was 20. The duration of the training was 7 days, from 5th to 11th of May 2014. The training was be based on non-formal education methods, encouraging active participation of young people involved.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group consisted of 24 youth workers and leaders coming from the following 10 countries Cyprus, Italy, Romania, Croatia, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, and Ukraine:

Training methods used & main activities

The training course was based on the principles of non-formal learning and it included the following methods: discussions, simulation games, ice-breaking games, peer learning, individual and group work, reflection and many other tools and methods

Outcomes of the activity

During the activity the youth workers could improve their skills and knowledge on job interview, body unguage, communication styles, branding, business models (SOSTAC model), presentation, and other competences. Each participant worked on the action plan after the project.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was responsible for implementing the project as a host and as a trainer.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
