RETOOLED - Social Diagnosis

The training activity took place
in Kraków
organised by KOMPAS
18-25.10.2016

Aims & objectives

The main aim of this TC was to connect youth projects with social diagnosis and base its needs analysis on solid research. Namely - to learn how to make evidence-based projects and how to research on problems. Activities were thereby a set of practical and theoretical input in the field of social studies methodology: designing and implementing social research.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The TC was done for youth workers and heads of youth organisations from: Poland, Serbia, United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal, Spain, Romania and Czech Republic.

Training methods used & main activities

Methods used were a mixture of knowledge transfer and practical implementation of it: designing a mini research on concrete social problems and implementing them in Kraków. It included interviews, questionnaires, qualitative content analysis, visual data analysis etc.

Outcomes of the activity

As a result, participants received a guide for social research making and examples of research reports they made under the supervision of trainers.
