Regional training course on combating antigypsyism through human rights education and youth participation

in Odessa, Ukraine

Aims & objectives

- Developing the competences of youth leaders and educators in addressing discrimination and antigypsyism through the MIRRORS manual;
- Supporting self-organisation and regional networking among Roma youth organisations;
- Identifying priorities and partners for the Roma Youth Action Plan among young Roma from the countries concerned;
- Strengthening and discussing Roma cultural identity and senses of belonging in a human rights framework;
- Sharing practices of Roma youth participation and empowerment;
- Further developing the capacities of Roma and other youth organisations to support Roam youth participation.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth leaders from organisations or youth community groups, for example from Roma youth organisations or youth organisations working with young Roma or having an educator role in their organisation or institution. Participants from Ukraine, Moldova, Estonia.

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal education.
Using Manual MIRRORS.

Outcomes of the activity

Young people motivated to work for the participation of young Roma in their communities and for combating antigypsyism.

I was senior trainer in team of trainers.

I worked on this training for 4 days days as a full time trainer.
