TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Sabina Belc
The training aimed to strengthen the capacities of youth workers by exploring and sharing innovative methods in street-based youth work, fostering collaboration among international partners, and addressing the needs of unorganized youth in public spaces. The goal was to empower participants with practical tools and approaches to create inclusive and sustainable solutions in their communities.
The group and team were composed of street youth workers and trainers representing organizations from Slovenia, Slovakia, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Macedonia,
The methods included visits to examples of good practice, project planning sessions, exchanging best practices, and presentations by participating organizations. A field visit was also conducted to understand the context of street-based youth work in a real-world setting. Icebreakers and activities for getting to know each other were incorporated to foster a collaborative and engaging environment.
The outcomes of the activity included enhanced competencies in street-based youth work, the development of practical skills for engaging unorganized youth, and the creation of action plans for future projects. Participants also established an international network of youth workers, fostering ongoing collaboration and the exchange of ideas to improve youth engagement and support.
I worked as a trainer and facilitator, playing an active role in co-designing and leading the program.
Among participants were also street based youth workers from Portugal, Finland, Austria, otherwise it was just like Sabina described.
