Aims & objectives

International Voluntary Service (IVS) has a huge potential in creating impact on their participants. With this training, participants:
- Got to know the other participants and participate in team building activities to have a good start of their work camp
- Increased intercultural competences to support working with volunteers from many different countries
- Increased awareness and provide support in setting the participants’ own personal development goals for the work camp
- Gained more insights in the importance of environmental volunteering

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group that participated in the project were international volunteers. They came from an IVS organisation that is member/partner in CCIVS, Alliance and/or SCI (EU Programme Countries only). After the training, they participated in a 2 weeks volunteering project in Drenthe, the Netherlands.

- 19 trainend participants
- 8.3 score by participants (on a 10-scale as highest)
- Top 3 increased competences: international volunteering +82%, intercultural communication +59% and communication skills +32%
