Aims & objectives

Aims of the TC:
*Raising environmental awareness.
*Understanding deeper the various aspects of environmental issues.
*Getting to know local initiatives with environmental impact.
*Creating and planning own environmental initiatives.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This TC was a bilateral synergy between Germany and Greece, while the group was consisted of various nationalities: Greek, German, Russian, Belorussian, Indian and Pakistani. The ages were varying from 18 to 70 years old and the participants were youth workers, teachers or people working in the social sector.

Training methods used & main activities

During the training, various non formal education activties in order to support the learning process of the participants in a short lasting training. The activties were designed in order to cover the necessary topics for the participants to be environmentally aware, get inspiration and have the tools to create their own initiatives.

Some examples were environmental team building activities, debate on environmental topics, sharing of good practices, study visits, theoretical input on circular economy, activity structure, reflection and evaluation activities.

Outcomes of the activity

The participants in short time have developed various professional and personal competences, while they have also designed their own environmental initiatives. After the Training Course, all participants have realized their individual or group initiatives with and environmental aim (eg local clean-ups, environmental campaigns, environmental workshops etc), which indicates the training's success.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

As a trainer, I supported the design of the learning process (before the TC), the learning process of the participants (during the TC) as well as the realization of the participants' projects on a local level (after the TC). Specifically, I was responsible for the following activities:
*Team building activities, to create a positive learning environment.
*Debate on environmental topics.
*World cafe - sharing of good practices.
*Feedback giving and support regarding the activities created by the participants.
*The evaluation process.

I worked on this training for 3 days as a full time trainer.
