Network Meeting Catania 2018

The training activity took place
in Catania, Italy
organised by AEGEE-Catania, Network Commission of AEGEE-Europe
April 5th-8th, 2018

Aims & objectives

The Network Meeting is a networking/training event addressed to board members of AEGEE locals. Our needs analysis showed shortcomings in the following areas:

- Conflict Management
- Project Management
- Understanding of EU institutions

As such, the training activities had the following goals:

- the participants understand conflict causes and possible outcomes, and they know tools to efficiently face conflicts within their teams
- the participants have an insight on EU institutions and understand their working format
- the participants are able to apply certain tools and methods in the field of project management

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group were Board and Active members of AEGEE locals from all over Europe. We had participants from Italy, Russia, Spain, the Netherlands and several other countries.

Training methods used & main activities

Buzz sessions and simulations were the most common methods used.

Almost a full day was used for the Project Hub, a case study going from writing the concept of a new project to its dissemination phase, passing by fundraising activities and the search for partners.

Outcomes of the activity

The participants produced 4 full fledged project concepts, some of which are currently worked on to make them actual projects.

Participants' feedback also several weeks later confirm they actually acquired new knowledge and are putting it to good use in their everyday activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

As a part of the training team, I contributed to the definition of learning objectives and drafting of the final programme, developed outlines and delivered sessions, designed and led the Project Hub together with the other trainers/facilitators.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
