TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Sabina Belc
The training aimed to support youth workers and educators in enhancing their mentoring skills and developing innovative approaches to guide young people in discovering their personal missions and achieving fulfillment. The training addressed critical topics such as career guidance, factors influencing youth development in the digital age, and maintaining inner motivation in long-term processes.
The training brought together 20 youth workers and educators from five countries - Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, and Greece.
The training featured a variety of non-formal education methods, emphasizing practical approaches for application in youth work. Participants explored Dilts' Pyramid as a framework for structuring mentoring processes and engaged in reflective and experiential practices, such as biographical learning, the Johari Window, and Challenge Walk (https://ljubljana.cityoflearning.eu/sl/activities/14279), to draw insights from experiences. Open space sessions facilitated the exchange of best practices. Additionally, participants collaborated on developing innovative tools and methods, contributing them to the Mentor's Toolbox.
Participants enhanced their knowledge and skills in mentoring, life and career guidance, and supporting young people in both digital and real-world contexts. They gained a deeper understanding of career guidance frameworks and acquired valuable new methods to apply in their work.
A key outcome of the training was the creation of The Mentor’s Toolbox (https://inkubator40.si/toolbox/), a comprehensive collection of practical tools and methods. This shared resource now provides ongoing support for participants and their organizations, ensuring the training’s long-term impact and effective application across diverse contexts.
I worked as a trainer, playing an active role in co-designing and leading the program.
Sabina is a great trainer, professional, yet playful, knowledgeable and insightful. Would recommend youth workers to attend her training also in the future.
