Aims & objectives

Migration; New Comers was a Study Visit that brought issues to light of refugee issues and the social realities they confront, having a Turkish case analysis, for agents of non- governmental organizations in the partnership of the project, taking into consideration a reasonable way to deal with future projects including refugees.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The actual implementation was done through mobility with partners from 9 European countries (Germany, Romania, Lithuania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Portugal, Denmark) and Turkey, between 20-29/11/2018., for 8 days in the districts of Diyarbakir, Mardin in Turkey. A total of 29 people participated in the activity: 25 youth workers as participants, 2 trainers and 2 facilitators.

Training methods used & main activities

The system utilized as a part of our visibility originates from the non-formal instruction circle and can be partitioned into the accompanying classes:
- Integrative strategies: They stimulate group union and familiarize participants with each other, encouraging cooperation. Illustrations: group building recreations, for example, Mission (Im)Possible and Oranges; Knowing each other games; Group presentations; Group work for presentations, Report and Action Plan creation
- Creative strategies: They fortify innovativeness and empower participants' opportunity of articulation. Illustrations: National case introductions on refugeess; Conceiving the Report; Establishing the Action Plan (innovative components)

Outcomes of the activity

Migration, New Comers has had a strong impact on mobility participants and has helped them develop a range of skills (knowledge, skills, attitudes) that largely meet the needs identified in the application. After analyzing the final evaluation, Mobility Tool feedback and Youthpass competencies identified by some participants, we can say that the
overall impact on them is represented by:
- Getting convincing information on the refugee issue, from different sources, which ensure that they have the important information in this issue
- Creating functional working skills with youths with regards to refugee issues
- Adapting better approaches for drawing closer and non-formal incorporation of youthful refugees from their own groups
- Recognizing new perspectives in contact with different participants or different partners
- New contacts in the field of youth NGOs
- Expanded ability to participate in future activities identified with refugee issues, but in addition to different issues of the groups, naturally expanding their general civic spirit
- Adapting more about different nations and societies applicable to the universal measurement of youth work
- Creating English language abilities with new particular terms
The level of the impact on the participating organisations determined on the basis of the overall evaluation of the partnership in the follow-up phase, by consulting the Mobility Tool feedback of the participants and identifying new collaborative opportunities. The impact of the project on participating organisations shifts from case to case, depending
upon their individual goals, mission and requirements. Subsequent to inquisitive every one of the partners, we found that Migration; New Comers created affect that by and large influences every organization similarly:
- Promoting a good image, sharing good practices and interactive NGO presentations
- Expanding the capacity of the organization to comprehend the requirements of refugees and bring issues to light of their issues
- Prompting a reasonable approach by the organization to future activities to help refugees
- Involving the organization in raising public awareness of the refugees by promoting tolerance and solidarity with their needs
- The quality level of possessing youth workers increased by adopting new strategies and methodologies
- The organization effectively joined to the exchange of know-how in the European nations and Turkey
- There was a development in mobility at the local, national and global level
- Developing partnerships with local/regional authorities from their own communities, starting from ideas that came from this project
There were identified target groups on which the project could have an impact. For each of these, we provide details, based on feedback and results communicated by partners and direct participants:
- The Study Visit Report educate these NGO representatives, giving them the possibility to think of activities that bring great changes to the refugees’ circumstance in their groups
- Young individuals in the focused-on groups turn out to be more aware of the presence of Erasmus+ opportunities, and in addition, they need to volunteer with NGOs to participate in such mobilities. They give more weight to the NGOs in their community and the work done by their representatives
- Other youth workers of the organizations involved are eager to participate in training sessions and the discovery of ways for their professional development.
- Local authorities engaged with Migration; New Comers expand their positive picture in the group through direct collaboration with common society, having the capacity to indicate comes about. Their delegates have the capacity to perceive how a fruitful European project function and how worldwide collaboration can go up against issues that
influence us internationally, not simply locally.
- For media representatives, the project fundamentally produced great composition material and provided them the chance to nearly collaborate between common society and foundations and to help spread positive outcomes in groups and society.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Design and facilitation of workshops and moderation of the study visits as well as translation of the study visits from Turkish to English.

I worked on this training for 10 days as a full time trainer.
