LeWo Train-the-Trainers 2016

Aims & objectives

The aim of the training activity was to provide new trainers with the basic techniques and confidence to start their paths as trainers, create a strong team spirit and motivate each individual to contribute to the development of the EUROAVIA Internal Training System.
The goals of the training activity were:
- Develop a professional and ethic youth trainer attitude
- raise awareness of themselves as trainers (self-management)
- Be able to design, deliver, evaluate and follow up on an effective training program
- Develop soft skills that will be handy for training delivery and training program design
- Develop strategies and a personal network to further develop individual skills and broaden personal knowledge on their own after the event
- grow their trainer’s knowledge and experience further

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The participants of the event were:
- active members of Euroavia
- trainers to be
- active and creative
- used to evolve in international environment
- Used to work virtually
- motivated and enthusiastic towards their organization.
Participants were 8 Romanian, 5 German, 1 Italian, 1 Estonian, 1 Bosnian and 1 Palestinian.

The Trainers' team composed of 6 trainers who were 1 German, 1 Cypriot, 1 Greek, 1 Romanian, 1 Russian and 1 Serbian.

Training methods used & main activities

The flow of the program of LeWo is based upon:
- Experiencing: different educational settings, different non formal education methods (role play, simulation game, exercise...)
- Reflecting in groups: on the methods and its impacts, on the knowledge and experiences shared during the session.
- Transferring: to the own reality of participants, in order to improve ways of working with students and/or young people
- Sharing: different perceptions, current situations and experiences.

Outcomes of the activity

The goals of the training activity were:

A training is a success if the new trainers that graduate from LeWo continue working and delivering training sessions, getting involved in new initiatives and projects and organizing training events.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was a full-time Trainer & Training Coordinator of the Trainers' Team.
My tasks&responsibilities as a trainer were:
- before the event, prepare the training program together with the rest of the team, attend all online meetings, design training sessions, and its methodology, making the sessions as creative and unique as possible.
- during the event, deliver all the training sessions i had and coach 4 trainees on our reflection group
- after the event, evaluate the training session with my co-trainers and the rest of the trainers team, evaluate the training event as a whole and ensure that all participants received amazing handouts & reports.
My tasks&responsibilities as a Training Coordinator were:
- creating the schedule of the event, design it from scratch
- communicating with organizing team about the logistics of the event, training materials, rooms
- animating and keeping participants attentive to the event
- supporting the trainers in their sessions when needed

I worked on this training for 10 days as a full time trainer.
