International Train-the-Trainers Seminar

The training activity took place
in Trakai/Vilnius, Lithuania
organised by AIESEC Lithuania
25.06.2015 - 30.06.2015

Aims & objectives

In addressing the need of youth education and empowerment within and beyond the framework of the organization AIESEC, we looked at ways to pursue the mission of training youth to become trainers in order to catalyze a positive impact in their local and global, corporate and non-corporate, public and private environments.

Therefore, the international Train-the-Trainers seminar (iTtT) in Lithuania aimed at the following:
# Delegates are empowered, confident and equipped for delivering and designing trainings & facilitations in various challenging environments
# Delegates understand how learning functions and develop the capacity for feedback and resilience
# Delegates explore the leadership capacity for self-expression and their responsibility and ethics as impactful trainers
# Delegates self-examine their becoming by nature and nurture and widen their leadership qualities

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

iTtT Lithuania hosted the environment for 90 young and motivated future trainers and leaders of our global organization, coming from 21 countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Training methods used & main activities

Parts of the conference were centered around concepts such as the Art of Hosting (AoH), as well as innovative interactive conference delivery designs such as graphical facilitation, training simulations and panel conversations.
We created living learning landscapes: visually, auditively and kinesthetically, using methods such as museum, vernissage, large and small group exercises, simulations and roleplays.

Outcomes of the activity

We believe to having transformed many, if not all of the 90 young delegates from around the world, in terms of
- taking training opportunities in their local, regional or national AIESEC entities,
- taking training opportunities beyond AIESEC, in their circles of family, friends, community, business, and
- having a deeper understanding for their own leadership capacities.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

During the conference premeeting, I was responsible together with my core team (4 people) to co-create iTtT, design and deliver a training on hosting, training and facilitation, and facilitate the entire organizational team (6 people) and trainer team (11 people) in terms of teambuilding, visionbuilding, and session preparation.
During the conference, I trained and moderated the entire plenary and smaller groups on different sessions centered around training, facilitation, hosting, leadership and personal development as well as graphical facilitation and recording.

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
