o To reflect about our individual and organisational practice of democratic citizenship (participation and representation in decision/ policymaking) and build an understanding of its global dimension
o To explore good practices of youth structures development and Structured Participation in Europe and Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region;
o To get acquainted with different principles, tools, channels and opportunities to further develop:
o The Structured Participation initiatives and mechanisms;
o The organisation of the youth movement mainly in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region
o To exchange views and share challenges and achievements and identify proposals for improvement with representatives of the quadrilogue
o To engage young people and youth organisations in the intra and inter-regional co-operation;
o To create the opportunity for participants to design a concrete SPDP follow-up action
This training course focus on the development of competencies of youth workers/activists involved in civil society organisations in Europe and Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
The course is addressed to young people from Europe (CoE member States) and Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
Methods were based on non-formal education and experimential learning. Participants has been offered with a chance to learn from each other as well.
The major topic was related to democracy, participation thus workshops were also covering that.
Participants were designing their SPDP follow up projects within the course, and were also presenting them to the North-South Centre as well as to participants. These project proposal will be potentially a base for future cooperation between European and Southern and Eastern Mediterranean country's youth organisations.
I was a trainer during the course, as well as played an active role in designing the content, and workshops. I was full-time trainer together with 3 collegues: Ela Jakubek (Poland) pedagogical coordinator, Maram Ambar (Egypt) and Ahmed Ben Nejma (Tunisia) co-trainers.
