TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Liga Rudzite
The training targeted social workers and young people they work with from the three Baltic states to build their confidence through the use of English to develop and implement inclusive international projects within Youth in Action programme. Participants were willing and interested in developing future international projects but felt they lacked confidence to cooperate in English. The training course dealt with language issues and specific vocabulary of YiA programme.
Particpants of the training course came from the three Baltic states - Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
We used non-formal learning methods - group work, simulation activities, language animation methods.
For many of the participants this was the first international training experience. One of the most valuable feedbacks for the outcomes of the training course is their willingness to apply for and participate in other international training courses and youth exchanges - this means their confidence level has risen and they are ready to work in English. Though some partnerships were formed during the course, so far we have not heard of any concrete projects that have come out of this training course.
I was a trainer in a team of two trainers, therefore I was a full-time trainer starting from planning and designing to implementing and evaluating the training course.
