Together with 17 organisations from other European countries, the four-part project series »From Learning to Impact« took place in 2022. The aim was to work out together how to design learning in the context of international youth work in such a way that sustainable impacts (individual, organisational and systemic) can be defined & achieved in cooperation with the target groups.
Participants with the experience in youth work and international projects from Armenia, Austria, Germany, Azerbaijan, Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Russia, Portugal, Latvia, Georgia, Italy, Greece, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt.
During TC, participants worked in small groups and pairs and gained practical experience designing, facilitating and evaluating the educational sessions. Each programme component was assessed by different tools developed by the working groups. In addition, a few innovative evaluation tools were developed.
Based on the created outputs and participant feedback, it can be stated that the chosen approach contributes to achieving the objectives. A participative process gives people with different learning needs space to explore the topic relevant to their professional reality and develop innovations. The participants mentioned that during the long-term process, they had developed more confidence in facilitating and initiating their projects or showing their expertise. In addition, participants claim they have reflected their attitudes as trainers and facilitators and have already changed their approaches as educators. For example, some work is much more participatory, and others pay more attention to the space while organizing their learning processes.
