This is a reference for Ilona Olehlova
The main aim of the training course was to provide young workers and young leaders working in divided societies, opportunity to increase their ability to use media tools such as video and photo in peace building. The training course was based on intercultural learning techniques, discussions, simulations, and practical exercises with the main goal to provide the participants both with a theoretical insight to peace building as well as with practical training in using media.
The target group of the training course was young workers and leaders coming from Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal, Spain and Latvia.
All working methods of this TC were based on non-formal approach. For providing theoretical background were used lectures, case-based presentation, and interactive lectures; for sustaining the learning process were used discussions in team and in small groups, self-assessment forms, exercises of creative thinking, role plays or group work. To support open team discussion were used techniques of brainstorming and collective texts. For improving communication skills were used simulations and different kinds of feedback methods.
During the training course the participants created several media products as short videos or photos that were reflecting the perception of conflict among people.
The videos are avaliable at youtube channel:

As one of involved trainers I was leading and facilitating sessions designed with goal to increase participants understanding of conflict (sources, effects) as participants knowledge about media and using media tools in peace building projects. Also during my sessions I tackled the issue of prejudices and stereotypes in meaning how media can contribute to break prejudices and stereotypes or on other side to strenght them in the society.
