Aims & objectives

The aim of the training course is to empower participants to respond to current opportunities and challenges in a culturally diverse and constantly changing Europe.
The objectives were to:
1. explore the issue:
- To raise participants’ awareness about current economic, political and social situation/conditions and recent changes in Europe having an effect on the lives of young Europeans
- To trace the interconnectedness of these developments, “what leads what”
- To explore and to challenge concepts connected with cultural diversity, using “bottom-up” approach and seeing how we personally perceive and react to those concepts
2. turn to (re)action:
- To explore possibilities for integration of youngsters to the modern European community
- To develop strategies for dealing with concrete issues and challenges connected with the topics of diversity and change on the local and international level
- To support cooperation and networking between participants tackling topics of diversity

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

22 youth leaders and workers that work with young people in EU (4), SEE (9) and EEC (9), both experienced and inexperienced in diversity and change issues.

Outcomes of the activity

This is a somewhat challenging topic to work on, both for participants and the team of trainers. The main outcome therefore is not only the initiatives developed by the participants at the end of the training course, but also the discussions, change and development of opinions and the very intangible personal growth of participants.
