TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Wendy Broos
This training course was designed for participants who have had their first experience with an EU programme and have joined or want to join the EuroPeers network. They should have a great motivation to further the goals of the Network, and preferably have some experience in the field of promotional activities.
The aim was - on the one hand - to empower the participants to share their experience and act as multipliers for the European Youth Programmes on a peer level. The participants become part of the international EuroPeers network, which offers many diverse opportunities for participation and networking. This means, for example, going through the different programmes and providing the participants with all the necessary information to share these opportunities with others.
On the other hand, we wanted to provide the participants with basic knowledge on storytelling. Storytelling is the "how" of sharing experiences and acting as multipliers, which is why we focused on this during the training course as well.
In total, we had 13 participants from eight different countries: Austria, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Romania.
The team consisted of Sabrina Apitz (a trainer from Germany) and me, and we were supported by Laura Kiviselg (a member of the Estonian National Agency).
Some of the methods we used:
* Mission Impossible
* Walk & Talk
* Automatic Writing
* Museum of Experiences
* Open Space
* On a scale from 1 to 6, where 6 is the best possible answer and 1 the most negative, 77% of the participants answered the question “how satisfied were you with the training overall?” with a 5 or 6. The lowest answer given (by one participant) is a 3. The average answer is a 4,7 out of 6 (or a 7,9 out of 10).
* Before the training course, four of the participants had a (very) high understanding of the EuroPeers network, five had a (very) low understanding, and four ranked their knowledge of the network as neither high nor low. After the event, all the respondents rank their understanding of the network as ‘above average’.
