Aims & objectives

The EuroPeers Training Course is a training course for newcomers in the network. It is offered by the network of EuroPeers Strategic National Agency Cooperation (SNAC).

It aims at empowering the participants to share their experience and act as multipliers for the European Youth Programs on a peer level. At the same time, the participants become part of the international EuroPeers network, which offers many diverse opportunities for participation and networking.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group includes young people who have had their first experience with an EU program (European Solidarity Corps, Youth Exchanges or Discover EU) and have joined or want to join the EuroPeers network to promote these programmes to their peers. We had 11 participants coming from Austria, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Spain and the Netherlands.

Training methods used & main activities

We used non formal activities to get participants active from the start of the training.

Some of the activity included ice breaker games such as Walk and Talk, Human Map and circle of common points.

Participants were also invited to share their Erasmus+ experiences with others through a ‘’EuroPeers Museum’’ activity.

Besides, I co- facilited an ‘out of comfort zone’ activity to get participants to take risks since this can be a part of their EuroPeers journey. I also facilitated an empowerment activity as to get participants to think about their strengths collectively.

What’s more, participants implemented their first EuroPeers activity (street action) with trainers’ support.

Outcomes of the activity

Overall, the training was a success. Participants gave an average rating of 4,25 of 6.
Participants got a better understanding of how the EuroPeers network and what type of activities they could implement in their local community.

Some participants enjoyed the fact of being in a small group for better connexion. Having experienced some outdoor activities enabled participants to connect on a different level and have a change of scenery outside the seminar room.

The street action was a success since it gave the participants a concrete experience of how running a EuroPeers activity in a local setting and provide an opportunity to interact with local people.
