TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Isabel Carayol Lorenzo
The main goals of the EVS mid-term training were:
• to assist the EVS volunteers to further improve their project, focusing on both the
process and the results
• to give the volunteers an opportunity and space for sharing experiences and solve possible problems in conflict management sessions
• to create visions for the future and prepare the volunteers for the reintegration into their home or future communities
• to address the information needs of the participants on various project-related topics
• to focus on the learning outcomes of EVS projects and YouthPass as a tool for
acknowledgement of non-formal and informal learning of volunteers
The target group were 20 volunteers aged 22 - 30 from various countries taking part in the EVS volunteer program in organizations in Germany.
During this training course, non-formal learning methods such as team-building activities, role plays, discussions, simulations, debates, small group work, presentations, workshops and open space methodology were used.
Volunteers had the possibility to meet, exchange and reflect on their projects and learning processes.
They also actively plan possible improvements in the future months in their project as well as planning for their future after the EVS program.
During this training, my role was that of a trainer together with my Co-Trainer Wolfgang.
We concepted and planned the training according to the National Agencies Standards and the EJBW's internal educational curricula.
