Aims & objectives

The overall aim is to foster development of communities (marginalized, school, rural area, and volunteering and youth people with fewer opportunities) by using two interrelated methods a) non-formal education (NFE) for self – development and leadership skills enhancement b) education through sports (ETS). It will develop communities on two level:

1) European and Asian youth leaders/workers to build intercultural relations and understanding between these 2 regions
2) within the organizations and their field of work. Participants to gain necessary skills and become trainers/facilitators to involve communities and turn them into active and happy citizens by creating platforms/activities for inclusion.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The participants were 3 from each partner country (India, Greece, Vietnam, Hungary, Spain). They were youth workers with no age limit, people who work with young people with different backgrounds .

Training methods used & main activities

non-formal education (NFE) for self – development and leadership skills enhancement, based on the needs and expectations of the participants, it offered a place for the participants to share, exchange, present, invent, discover and explore. It also encouraged communication among participants and mutual understanding, in order to allow the exchange of knowledge and skills, as well as reflection on them.
Brainstorming about the characteristics of a good leader, cooperative learning in small groups,theatre of the oppressed , steam group discussion and feedback, privilege walk(One step forward” Compass), interactive and creative presentations, experiential learning, scavenger hunt game in order to Interact with local people and increase their social skills.

Outcomes of the activity

-Improved their leadership skills in order to use them to develop their community

-acquired new knowledge in an intercultural environment and worked to create a sense of tolerance, solidarity and acceptance for the difference

-created partnerships by representing their organization, their activities and planning future projects with people with common values and same interests
-learnt more information about the Erasmus+ format and key actions so they will be more prepared to create new projects.

-created networks

-intercultural dialogue has been strengthened


Through this training the organizations:
-Trained their volunteers and get experience in Capacity Building in the field of Youth

-Exchanged good practices and invigorate their relationships

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was a full- time trainer and shared responsibilities with coordinator and another trainer.

I worked on this training for 9 days as a full time trainer.
