TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Emir Shevkiiev
Aim: To raise awareness about domestic violence, xenophobia and freedom of speech by making escape rooms and using them for learning
Objectives:
-Spread ideas about human rights protection
-Teach participants how to make escape rooms for educational purposes
-Equip participants with knowledge, skills and attitudes on new approaches to education
-Create 3 toolboxes on escape rooms
-To make a positive impact in such areas as domestic violence, xenophobia and freedom of speech
Participants of the training course were youth workers, youth leaders and NGO activists from the following countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, France, Germany, Poland, Russian Federation, Turkey, and Ukraine
During the training course, we used a variety of methods and approaches of NFE. Some are:
- Role-playing
- Teamwork
- Research and presentation
- Ice-breakers and energizers
- Team building
- Personal reflection
- Presenting ideas
- Gamifying learning processes via houses competition
We achieved 3 main results during this activity:
1. We educated 24 participants of the training course on how to create educational escape rooms - 81% of participants responded in evaluation forms that they can build educational escape rooms and the remaining 19% responded that they "maybe" can build educational escape rooms.
2. Participants built 3 fully operational educational escape rooms on topics of freedom of speech, xenophobia and domestic violence. These rooms were built in 3 days. We had an open event with invited guests and each of those rooms were played 4-5 times with 5 people at each game.
3. We created 3 toolboxes with descriptions of escape rooms which can be found here https://drive.google.com/drive/u/3/folders/1untPoorJSFmbleuZOJRCsqDWNI6cBvSf . Anyone who wants to build similar escape rooms has access to all the information needed.

To develop and deliver the educational part of the programme together with my colleagues. To support participants' learning process. To coach them during the construction of escape rooms.
