Environmental Education for Sustainability

Aims & objectives

- to exchange information and experience about environmental education in different countries
- to discuss and perceive the role of youth NGOs in environmental education
- to explore environmental education in partner organisations
- to train skills in environmental education focused on sustainability
- to encourage young participants to create their own programme of environmental educator focused on sustainability
- to discuss and explore the factors that ensure the professional quality of environmental education
- to practice various environmental educational methods

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Team: 3 trainers (CZ - me; Serbia, GB) + 2 organisers (Serbia, Russia)
Participants: 24 youthworkers focused on environmental education (CZ, Portugal, Albania, Romania, Serbia, Russia, Moldaw, Netherlands, GB)

Training methods used & main activities

We did used methods of nonformal education, important part was practice of activities for environmental education with groups of local school children + feedback. We did use also many nature and community -based methods, for example Council, Threashold Walk, Mapping the forrest,...

Outcomes of the activity

Participants are implementing new elements to their work and organising new activities, some on local level, some based on newly born international partnership.
