In this seminar, volunteers and youth workers from around Europe gathered to learn and exchange, among other topics:
• Non-formal education methods around making international volunteers interact with rural communities, e.g. on topics of peace, tolerance and active citizenship
• Best practices of engaging international volunteers in rural communities, among them the „Image Mapping“ project from Ukraine
• How to create intercultural events in villages
• How to reach rural youth to participate in international volunteering projects
• Group dynamics of international youth projects in the countryside
• Rural tourism and economic development of small communities
• Youth projects around local heritage
• Erasmus+ and its possibilities for the countryside
Youth from the rural areas and especially youth workers working with the youth from the rural areas. Participating countries: Austria, Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Bulgaria, Spain.
NFE methods, study visits in the community, Live Action Role Play. As an outcome we created a manual on how to create interaction between international volunteers and rural communities. The manual included method
descriptions and guidelines for youth and volunteering organisations to be used.
