This training activity was part of the long-term EmpowerHer program, which combined five online workshops with an in-person training session. The primary goal of the training was to enhance the financial literacy of 20 young women through empowerment.
The training was designed to:
Challenge stereotypes about women’s roles in the financial world.
Identify and address personal blocks and fears related to money and financial independence.
Strengthen key competencies in financial literacy.
Support participants in setting and achieving their financial goals.
The training was specifically designed for 20 young women from Bulgaria and Ukraine, aged 20 to 35, to address their unique financial literacy needs and empower them in their financial independence journey.
The training program was fully based on the principles of **non-formal education**, placing the **learner’s experience at the center** and fostering a collaborative learning journey. A variety of **interactive and experiential methods were used, including simulations, role-playing, theater, discussions, and reflective activities.
Specifically, some of the methods included: **Mission Impossible, energizers, Theatre of the Oppressed, mandala exercises, individual assignments, and group discussions. These approaches encouraged active participation, critical thinking, and personal growth.
The success of the training was assessed using multiple evaluation tools, including **daily check-ins, final reflections, and a feedback questionnaire**. All methods indicated **high participant satisfaction** and a strong commitment to applying their newly acquired knowledge in their daily lives.
Publications and insights from the training can be found on the social media channels of the organizing organizations and trainers:
My responsibilities included **co-developing the training program** alongside my co-trainer, designing and preparing the activities I was responsible for, and **delivering the training in collaboration**. This involved **adapting to the group’s needs in real time, actively reflecting on the process, responding swiftly to emerging dynamics**, and evaluating the overall outcomes to ensure an impactful learning experience.
