Aims & objectives

The main objective of the training is to equip youth workers with knowledge and tools that will help them meet the problems faced by youth aged 15-30, (volunteers, students from partner organizations) hate and disinformation, how to deal with these phenomena.
The specific objectives are:
- Getting to know and exchange good practices;
- Exchange of experiences between people from the countries participating in the project on hate, disinformation, and how to combat hate in Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria;
- Making youth workers, and young people aware of how to recognize different types of disinformation and identify its popular techniques;
- Make young people aware of what hate is, how it manifests itself, and what they can do if they witness hate
- Promoting peace, and tolerance both online and in the real world
- Training the youth workers (participants of the training course) in the creation of youth exchange applications in the Erasmus + program, thanks to which they will pass on the acquired knowledge and skills to young people;
- Facilitating intensive contacts between youth workers.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

In the training took part 30 youth workers from Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria at the age 18+.
They expressed the following needs:
- exchange of good practices among people from the countries participating in the project on the subject of hate speech-the mechanisms of its' formation and how to combat this phenomenon in Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain and Bulgaria
-getting to know what is disinformation and critical thinking? getting familiar with the practical tips on how to recognize different types of disinformation and identify its popular techniques
-discussing the phenomenon of cyberbullying and learning how to counteract it
-discussion about Human Rights
-improving the process of creation of youth exchange applications in the Erasmus + program
-facilitating intense contacts between people working with young people from different countries
-establishing an intercultural dialogue between participants of the training.

Training methods used & main activities

Non-formal education methods: oral presentation, ice breakers, team building, energizers, group work, moderated discussion, exchange of good practices, Q&A sessions, evaluation.
