Among the aims of the training - youth mobility, were fostering the knowledge on multiple discrimination; increasing the capacity of learning opportunities in the area of inclusion of vulnerable groups, contribution to extend European values in the area of human rights, solidarity, dignity, tolerance. One of the methods applied in the project was through experiential learning to set an atmosphere of empathy and tolerance, and to set motion for future enhance of knowledge and partnership among participants.
The project was a youth mobility and focus to people who want to enhance their knowledge and skills on inclusion of vulnerable groups. The participants were from 10 countries - Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Republic of Macedonia, Italy, Croatia.
The project was based on non- formal learning and included as well experiential learning; we were experiencing group work, discussion, task oriented activities, simulation.
Among the achieved outcomes were very intensive group work of 40 participants on the topic of inclusion/exclusion, and discrimination. Overall during the 8 days of the training we started to work on the theme of exclusion/inclusion, groups of exclusion/vulnerable groups, to apply methodologies for inclusive policies, to apply assertive behaviour, to demystify the status quo of attitudes towards refugees and applied the Theatre of the Oppressed within a local context of the exclusion; the scenes played in the Theatre with involvement of the participants were presented during the study trip which was released in the Forum of Immigrants in Thessaloniki.
Overall we were three trainers responsible for the training. My role was on the groups dynamics and to set out the methodologies, vulnerable groups, working on the follow up activities.
