1. Initiating Dialogue and Awareness: Start a meaningful conversation about body shape and size discrimination among young people. Raise awareness about the issue among participants and the broader community.

2. Knowledge Foundation: Establish a knowledge base on body discrimination, its causes, and its impact on young people. Ensure all participants have a common understanding of the issue.

Action Planning: Brainstorm ideas for advancing discussions and solutions related to body discrimination in youth work. Outline specific project concepts and collaboration between organizations

Networking: Facilitate opportunities for participants to connect with like-minded organizations, youth workers, and experts. Build a supportive network for ongoing collaboration.

Visibility and Advocacy: Increase the visibility of addressing body image discrimination in European youth work. Encourage participants to advocate for its inclusion in youth work programs and policies.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth workers, trainers, educators, activists and mental health practitioners who have prior
experience and expertise in fields closely related to
discrimination, equality, mental health, or similar
areas. We had in the group significant number of activists who work in the field of Body Liberation.

The team was composted of the Body Liberation Collective activists and trainers working on fat phobia and body liberation of trans-bodies.

Training methods used & main activities

Seminar was based on NFL principles. We have used methods like group works, reflections, role plays, brainstorming, action planing, and more.
For the purpose of this activity we have developed few activities related to body shape and size discrimination, since there is no materials related to this topic yet.

Outcomes of the activity

The training was a significant success in terms of learning and the follow up actions. Several organizations joined the network and the activities like research, raising awareness and future projects planning, are being implemented.
