Work experience

Hanna Aheyeva is a freelance trainer, facilitator, project manager, and capacity-building advisor. She mainly works with the topics of learning, developing soft skills, active citizenship and empowerment of underrepresented groups. She also advises and trains activists and organisations from Europe and Central Asia for professional development.

She has a background in youth work, leading a youth educational centre and coordinating the Young European Ambassadors initiative in Belarus. Her work with children and young people since 2013 has led her to run training sessions for novice and experienced youth workers/trainers on youth participation and non-formal education. Hanna supports professionals and activists in developing competencies in needs assessment, designing educational programs, facilitation, interactive methodologies, and group dynamic.

She is also keen on visual arts and uses creative practices in her educational work, running painting workshops and programs in art activism. She was a co-founder of an art school in Minsk.

Having significant experience in volunteer management, Hanna promotes a participative approach to project management and learning design. Her educational approach is based on the principles of non-formal education, emotional intelligence knowledge, and psychology research. She sees more value in long-term programmes because she believes they have a significant impact on individual and community levels.

Hanna is now based in Germany and works with various organisations in Europe as a freelancer.

Hanna delivered 150+ training sessions and workshops on a national and international level on efficient communication, mentoring, motivation, project management, team building, needs assessment, trainers' competence development, interactive methodologies, group dynamics, youth participation, volunteers management, migration, leadership, partnership & cooperation, fundraising & crowdfunding, art-activism, creativity, non-discrimination, etc. She also facilitates group processes (networking, brainstorming, assessment sessions, follow-up sessions, etc.) and provides counselling and coaching for activists and organisations.

Educational pathway

Hanna got a bachelor's degree in «Communicative design» from Belarusian State University, Minsk (2011-2016). She finished 15+ of training in non-formal education for trainers and youth workers on facilitation, designing learning programs, non-violent communication, online & offline campaigns, working with volunteers, fighting extremism, civic education & democracy, entrepreneurship and other.

She also received additional training in long-term formal and non-formal education programmes:

A significant contribution to her professional and personal development was the European Solidarity Corps project at European Youth Education and Meeting Centre in Weimar, Germany (2021).

She completed the Salto ToT long-term course in 2023/2024.

An important contribution to Hanna's personal development, which of course, is also linked to her professional work as a trainer and facilitator, is her experience with long-term personal and group psychotherapy.
