Social Worker, Trainer, Interpreter
Since 2016, I have been engaged in project management, education, and training focused on disability studies and policy. Recently, I have been actively involved in initiatives that align the requirements of various stakeholders with the needs of diverse programs. My primary focus is on tackling the risks of multiple discrimination faced by underrepresented groups, particularly at the intersection of disability, marginalized ethnic communities, and the LGBTQIA+ population, as well as immigrants and asylum seekers.
In addition to my project work, I serve as a sign language interpreter and conduct research in international contexts. Currently, I am also part of the pool of trainers for the Italian National Agency, where I contribute to educational and training initiatives aimed at enhancing awareness and promoting inclusivity. Moving forward, I plan to further develop training programs that address these complex issues, fostering collaboration among stakeholders to create effective, inclusive policies and practices.
My educational journey encompasses a range of formal and non-formal training experiences that have collectively shaped my work in youth training and development. Notably, my participation in the Training of Trainers for European Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps Projects (2022/2023) has equipped me with the necessary skills to effectively design and implement training programs aimed at fostering inclusion and social rights among disadvantaged youth. This was complemented by the Enter! Training focused on providing access to social rights, which deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by these young people.
In addition to these, I completed the Training of Trainers Certification Programme at the International Training Centre and attended the Evaluating Learning and Training course organized by the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC). These qualifications have enhanced my ability to evaluate training effectiveness and adapt methodologies to meet diverse learners' needs.
Throughout 2021 and 2020, I participated in numerous other significant training activities, such as the Train the Trainers Inlining Online Processes and the E-Tutor training course from Centro Studi Erickson. These experiences have transformed my digital facilitation skills, allowing me to navigate and support online learning environments effectively.
My earlier qualifications, including a Degree in Educational Science from Pegaso University (2019) and various certifications in intercultural mediation and youth work, have laid a solid foundation for my current role. Courses like Advanced Facilitation Training and Competence-Based Development for Youth Workers have equipped me with advanced facilitation and coaching tools.
In summary, my educational experiences span a diverse spectrum, marked by an emphasis on formal qualifications and practical training programs tailored to youth empowerment. Each of these experiences has contributed to my professional competencies, enabling me to inspire and empower young individuals in their personal and social development.
These educational experiences have been invaluable for several reasons. Firstly, they have provided me with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for effective training delivery and evaluation. Secondly, engaging in diverse training contexts has enriched my understanding of different cultural perspectives, which is crucial for working with youth from various backgrounds.
Additionally, these experiences have reinforced my commitment to fostering social inclusivity and supporting disadvantaged youth, aligning closely with my values. The methodologies and competencies I've gained empower me not only to facilitate impactful training sessions but also to continually adapt my approach to the evolving needs of the youth I work with.
Ultimately, I view these experiences as integral components of my professional identity, shaping my approach to education and training in meaningful ways.
