Toolbox that contains creative and fun non-formal learning and experiential activities for youth work on the topics of youth engagement and participation
, intercultural learning, social inclusion and gaining or improvement of key competencies.
1. To improve the communication skills (verbal and non-verbal), including public speaking, presentation, persuasion, negotiation, articulation and active listening.
2. To learn and practice ways of how humor, comedy and non-formal education can be used by youth workers in improving young people’s engagement or addressing social issues.
3. To encourage active participation of young people in all spheres of democratic life on local, national and European level in order to strength young people voice in Europe by using different tools for empowerment.
4. To raise the awareness about the learner-centered approach in developing non-formal learning activities for young people on the topics of communication, youth participation and intercultural learning while motivating youth workers, youth leaders and organisations to use it in their work.
The Toolbox provides 8 different non-formal learning and experiential activities on different topics that can support youth workers, young people and others to organise activities that address various social issues and enhance youth participation, intercultural learning and gaining or improvement of key competencies of young people. The Toolbox contains some activities that use techniques, methods and principles from theater and comedy.
The Toolbox includes detailed instructions for running the activities for different target groups in various contexts. Additionally each activity contains: summary of activities, themes covered, intended target group(s), aims & objectives, expected learning outcomes, intended group size and time, step-by-step instructions for facilitation, debriefing and evaluation questions, space requirements and training materials needed, notes and tips for facilitation, and if applicable additional information or appendixes.
The Toolbox was created by 24 participants of the Training course "Comedy as a Tool - Enhancing Youth Engagement through Humor",
organised in Krushevo, Macedonia from 26th of October to 3rd of November 2023.
The Training course is part of a project funded by the Erasmus+ programme through the Macedonian National Agency for European educational programmes and mobility.
