The "Ethics in Youth Work" handbook is designed to help youth workers explore and apply ethical practices. It offers guidance on setting boundaries, addressing challenges, and fostering a friendly but professional atmosphere for working with young people.
To encourage youth workers to apply ethical principles in their youth work practices while equipping them with the tools and knowledge to address ethical dilemmas and challenges in working with young people.
Purpose:
The handbook is built on the understanding that youth work is a value-driven practice with significant influence on young people. It provides youth workers with insights into ethical frameworks and helps them navigate the delicate balance between creating a friendly environment and maintaining professional boundaries.
Methodology:
The handbook emphasizes reflective learning, theoretical exploration, and practical application. It incorporates activities and discussions that encourage participants to critically analyze ethical concepts and apply them to real-world situations.
Learning Outcomes:
Ethical Awareness: Youth workers will understand key ethical terminology and concepts, with a focus on their application in youth work.
Critical Reflection: Participants will develop the ability to critically assess theoretical models of ethics and their relevance to youth work practices.
