Visual reflection cards for online use: A digital tool born from collaborative artwork and AI. These cards blend individual perspectives into meaningful reflections, ideal for virtual settings where physical cards aren't possible.

Aims of the tool

The aim of reflection cards is to promote deep, meaningful learning through self-reflection and metacognition, or in other words, thinking about thinking.

The reflection cards blend experiential learning, visual thinking, and collaborative approaches. They're grounded in the idea that we learn best by reflecting on our experiences. Using art and technology, these cards help people process complex thoughts and emotions, turning personal insights into shared learning. This method taps into different learning styles, making reflection more engaging and accessible for everyone involved.

Description of the tool

The creation process of our reflection cards kicked off with participants expressing their thoughts and feelings through individual paintings in Georgia. This unique initiative brought together participants from both the 2022 and 2023 editions.

Each unique piece was collected and, with the help of AI, blended into a final version—a collaborative artwork that captured everyone’s reflections. It was a simple yet powerful way to show how our individual perspectives can come together to create something meaningful. Responding to the nowadays trends, we also involved artificial inteligence in order to boost the process.

This process not only showcased the power of individual perspectives but also highlighted the interconnection between humanity and artificial intelligence in today’s world.

Duration:

The reflection card process is flexible and can be adapted to fit your schedule. You can use them for a quick 5-minute wrap-up at the end of a session or spend an hour diving into deep discussions. We usually use these cards to close our sessions, helping participants reflect on what they've learned. Sometimes, we also use them at the beginning to set the mood and get people thinking. This flexibility makes the cards great for both short check-ins and longer, more thoughtful conversations, depending on what you need for your group.
