Info session
How to organize an information session on inclusive volunteering and how to adapt it to the abilities of the group of aspiring volunteers who will participate.
- to make people with disability aware that they can volunteer
- to provide information about volunteering
- to provide trainers and volunteer coordinators with a comprehensive toolkit to deliver those information in a playful way.
This manual is part of the multidimensional approach IMProVE 2.0 for inclusive volunteering for people with disabilities (developed within the homonymous project).
The approach IMProVE 2.0 includes training and consultancy interventions aimed at:
• people with disabilities
• their caretakers and caregivers: therefore family members and those who take care of people with disabilities at a professional level
• organizations that host volunteers
• organizations that coordinate volunteers, through the provision of a new volunteer figure called an inclusion mediator
People with disabilities are not always aware of the fact that they could do volunteer work and therefore sometimes it may be necessary to inform them: in this regard, we suggest using this manual that explains how to organize an information session on volunteering and how to adapt it to the abilities of the group of aspiring volunteers who will participate and watching and disseminating the video that explains the concept of the IMProVE 2.0 method in a simple and direct way.
This manual contains a detailed description of the activities to deliver to people with disability during an info session about inclusive volunteering, completed with printables in annexes.
