Aims of the tool

To inform young people about our project outcomes and deliverables

Description of the tool

The project named “Youth learn how to turn the ambitious climate crisis into an opportunity” or in short Echoing+ with reference number 2021-1-FR02-KA220-YOU-000028590 officially started on 1st of November 2022. The consortium consists of Fthia in Action (Greece), Avrasya Yenilikçi Toplum Derneği (Türkiye), VAEV Research and Development Agency GmbH (Austria), Form2You (Portugal) and Nefinia (Netherlands) under the coordination of AFEJI (France).
Echoing+ aims to provide opportunities for the youth in the field of vertical farming through producing high-quality learning and practical resources and digital modules of learning. Learners will not only gain hard skills on vertical farming, but also soft skills such as time management, professional communication, critical thinking and problem solving which are fundamental for any entrepreneurial mindset. We will fight against the climate change by empowering the youth.
The project consortium initially developed an exhaustive handbook which is methodological resource informs the youth about agriculture, how to improve soft skills and how to launch a vertical farming business. Following the completion of the handbook we prepared a training toolkit for trainers which is a complimentary material. It utilizes non-formal education methods and set the guidelines for youth workers and trainers in vertical business creation and empowerment of the youth. Next step was to gather all these materials in a web platform that will improve the quality of learning, provide access to resources and services online and free of charge, and creating the conditions for youth to increase their self-confidence in the labour market. Additionally, we have developed both theoretical and practical elements on four core units: climate change, vertical farming, secure food supply and mentoring for vertical farming entrepreneurship.
These were the outputs we produced so far. So, what’s next? We are currently running a campaign named “Feed Your City” and our slogan is “Eco-friendly future, Eco-friendly youth”. During the campaign we will meet and contact diverse stakeholders ranging from NGOs to media outlets in order to enlarge the impact area of the project. The consortium will run the campaign in their respective countries through both social media and in person meetings or events. We hope to successfully transmit our work to the target group in the end.
You can have more information about the project and test the web platform through the project website: echoingplus.eu. You can also follow our social media pages to catch up with recent developments and support our campaign! We rely on your support to empower youth!
